Can politics adopt competition?

Now a day’s one controversy is going on in Indian leadership b/w Mr. Shashi Tharoor and Mr. S M Krishna about visa rules, I m not saying who is right or who is wrong I m looking this for another prospective. Just a movement stop this story here come to another story-
Now talk about business, how consumer get the best service? Answer is simple, that market has a huge competition in that market have a good service and this competition can be intra organization regarding performance.
Now connect both stories, because I want to link both stories in terms of social benefit and it can be the prospective of change in Indian political system. I not seen this type of controversy before, the question is, this is good or bad? The answer is simple everything have some good or bad point just look the good point, our country is democratic country everybody have a right to say, so why not Mr.Tharoor cannot speak? when Mr.Tharoor share their view on social networking site MR.Krishna says openly that if Mr.Tharoor have any different view regarding visa rules firstly they have to speak internally, so conclusion is that both are using their rights of speak but their own way and both are right, but this all controversy will be good because by that way people will aware, they will know that something wrong decision are taking and political leader will aware that, people are watching them so they will do right thing.
When two person doing the same task competition will automatically increases and decision become more simple than complex. I say whole thing not only because of controversy, I telling because by that way Indian political system will become competitive and it will develop. At last I will say that completion is always good no matter this in politics or in market overall people will get the benefit of this.

An idea form strategy
Yesterday I went to a cloth store for female in Troyes with my friends, it was retail store of cloth like jeans, jacket , cap etc. everything was organize well, and they utilizing space very well in their store, i can say that it was congested store but overall it was well organized. But I were very impress to see their service part, there were more than 6 changing room and it was not so big store, but their concentration was on service, which is really important in current market situation not matter where we are in the world.
The entire thing was good about store but very interesting thing that I not purchase any cloth from this store for my family, I purchase a necklace and my friend purchase one pair of shoes and jacket. The idea is that it was the basically cloth shop but, what were we purchased? So u can imagine goodness of store and I also see many mirrors in the store for service of consumers.
At last I want to say that how the store maintain their core business as well as other product also as maintain their consumer interest maintain cost (because on artificial item have good profit margin) and managing service for all item. So it also tell us about future, that in future we have to develop more things in it is not matter that we are company, product or human being.

GOLD- A Gold prospective for Indians
This is very interesting thing to discuss about-GOLD , if we see the gold prices they are uncertain at present and one time price were crossed the 18000 line but now is near to 17000, but I am not discussing it because of gold prices, I want to link these prices with country wealth ,but question is how?
Figure said that India have more than 15000 toones gold is privately held which is more than 27 times government held 558 toones, and if we see international market last one year, gold has appreciated by 53 per cent, from $742 to $1,101(today price) an ounce in international markets and very interesting fact that southern states have highest percentage per capita gold holding in India, in which only Kerala have 15 to 20 % share. Now come on strategic view- it is good or bed to appreciate the price of gold? According to my view for consumers it is good but for government it bed but I am taking about consumer way. we automatically becoming rich by increasing gold price and India have huge gold holding and we are no. one from several years in importing gold and one more thing if gold prices will increase the people will buy more because they know that is best source for investment and their saving will also increase.

Bajaj- A Strategic Decision

Today I read the news about Bajaj, they take the decision to stop their one Brand which was NO. 1 before few years in their market, yes I m taking about Bajaj scooter, today they announce that they do not have any plan to produce scooter in future and they will finish the production of scooter till 31st march 2010.
But I do not surprise by this news because, since last few years Bajaj do not good position in scooter market, Honda overtake them in scooter market, or they do not want to do anything, this is big strategic change by Bajaj and wake up time of Hero Honda, because they know that new companies are coming in scooter market, Mahindra one of the example. And when new player will come competition will increase, and profit margin will down so it can be the strategic change by Bajaj, now they can focus only on bikes and use their resource in different ways which they were in scooter market. If we see the last quarter sales Bajaj growth was 98% whereas Hero Honda only was 34%. So may be competition will increase by this move and consumer will get the benefit.

Bal Vikas Bank (Children’s Development Bank)

Today I was read about a interesting Bank called BAL VIKAS BANK, the bank has four branches in Delhi (Fatehpuri,Okhla, Nizamuddin Dargah and Bhogal) and some counters in Bihar and they are planning to open more branches, and very interesting thing about this bank that, its run by street children’s, and for street children’s. This bank founded by 24 children’s in 2004 and now days it becoming popular in Delhi and Bihar. The two organizations help the bank, Mahila Vikas kandra and Butterflies (Delhi NGO).And I was surprise that the only streets children are account holders of this bank like- picking garbage from streets, works in cycle shops etc., In this Bank have more than 1200 account holders and more than 25 lakh deposit, and they also provide interest on deposit and loan to their account holders or poor children’s. Only below 18 years children’s can open their account in this bank. After 18 years they can open their account in other bank, and in this bank they can deposit minimum 5 rupee or maximum 500.

Now come on strategic part of this bank, I was very surprised after read this news because nobody wants to help street children’s except few, and by that way they are proof themselves and becoming self dependent and also making country strong. Because they motivate themselves for saving, and saving is best way to become financial strong. If we see this bank this is very innovative and unique and we can learn many things by this bank. They are set the example front of us that if we want to do something in life we can do. (Best of luck for their future)

Firstly I want to slam (salute) the effort of them, I am talking about the dance company, project Bandaloop, I have a question to myself ,this is the dance company like others? NO, this is not the company like others, so i ask the difference to me, yes they not have small difference, they have huge difference, their dance is awesome, I am not saying this because of their dance, I saying this because of their spirit, passion, commitment and many more thing, which i never seen before.(except few)
This group founded by Amelia Rudolph with the mission of honors nature, community, and human spirit through dance. Their dance is very inspiration they use climbing and rappelling, the choreography draws on aerial vertical and horizontal movement to craft dance. I will only say one more thing; if we want to become successful person in life, for that, first we want to become Project Bandaloop.

Politician are not corrupt they do everything to come in power?
First I want to clear that I m not in favor or against politician, this is my point of view, let me clear this by an example, teacher teach, what his job, is teaching, player playing, what is his job is playing but in case of politician is differ they have two job, first is they represent people second is their department responsibility, by this way ego come in their mind that we are everything, we have power, without us people not survives etc. and in this ego they not see that what is ethical or unethical, they do whatever they want, because they feel they are power. There is one motive- stay in power, whatever way they follow, is right, according to them.
In this time period they do many good or bad things, sometime one good thing is bad for others or vice- versa.
Politics is field where people come with only one motive- is social service, but when they entre and people start respect them they feel that they have superpower. Their ego overtake their social feelings, and they move towards money, and people also realize it, so they also do what they can do, and when politician realize this that people are going against him they do some ethical or unethical for stay in power.
I m not saying, that they are corrupt when they take commission from people to do work, because, normally people do the same thing in business also, I m saying that, they are corrupt when they do unethical or bias in their decision and not use proper fund they receive.
I want to ask a question to everybody- if u find 500 rupee on road what u will do? Give honest answer.
The leader also do the same thing, so who is wrong, yes we are. We have to ask question for them for us, because whatever money they receive is ours.
We have to realize them that nothing is better than social service and you are not above that.
We have to realize that, nothing is powerful than people.

Dell computer- A New Way

The innovation and changing business model is the necessity in current market, its proof by the way of Dell computer, Dell computer was famous for direct selling for computers, laptops, but in current market its change, Dell is selling his computer by the way of distribution, why they do that, the answer is simple consumer is king, consumers demand is always change, so company also want to change, but Dell were not did it in past so now its market capitalization is only $30 billion(october2009), those was $100 billion in 2005. But interesting thing that apple share in market is double compare to 2005, and HP also increase 10%, why only Dell decrease?
The reason is simple they not change themselves according to the consumer, apple and HP did this, they innovate in their products. But after 2006 Dell wake up and did change in Dell business model, now they are more focus on skill, innovation and flexibility those they were not in past. So according with time, things also change.
A perspective of Dell market capitalization (in billion $)
In 2005 their market capitalization was$100, in 2007 it was $59 and in 2009(January) it was $21 but by their move it’s increased and now in October 2009 it was $30.
“There’s been a pretty ignoramus shift in our business over last several years” says Dell.
The old Dell is history, we are not trying to become like our competitors he says “We are digging our own path” says by Dell CEO.
Dell market share have drop near 40% whereas Apple and HP increase, net income also dropped out by 28% to $2.6 billion in fiscal year end 2007.
Later in 2007 Dell broke his tradition to selling direct to the consumer, its announcement to sell its machine at Wall-Mart and by the way of distribution channels. They realize his mistake, so now they have become more risky, investing in R&D, Dell give the responsibility to change Dell computer old structure to Gladden, a 20 year veteran of GE. He changes process and culture, now they focus on consumer rather than product.
They decide to segment his business in four segments-
• Consumers
• Corporations
• Small and medium size business
• Government and education buyers
DELL – Past and Present, they make new strategies to capture market again, they are making new way to walk-
In past Dell distribution, innovation, acquisition, management, were different, they were not in distribution, they invest in innovation less than 1%of its renenue and they did not do any acquisition in past, and management only focus on sale laptops.
But in present everything have change, they doing acquisition, investing in innovation, selling software, and big thing that they are selling computers by the way of distribution.

This was the strategies, dell computer adopt for making trust again, and it’s also working but slow.

What matter for product sale and how?
What matter
This is very critical question, what is matter for product sale and organization success- organization strategies, organization polices or advertisement, but I m not fully agree of this, according to me is something different, which is matter for organization and consumer called- DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS (Distributors, wholesaler and retailers)
I am asking a question to myself and all consumers, you know the company name of every product you use? My answer is no, because we use products, not company and we know retailer who sale this product to us.
Let’s take an example of any new product, when new products came to market consumer purchase this product from retailer, because they have trust on retailers that, he will not sale them wrong product and this is truth in market.

How matter
No company willing to sale their product on credit, companies take advance draft from distributors, but what distributor do, he sale company product on credit to wholesaler or retailer. And wholesaler and retailer purchase it because they know we will pay amount to distributor or wholesaler when product will sale or after some days of purchasing.
Example- I was the sales executive in mobile company, we take advance draft from distributor but distributor sale mobile to retailer on credit. Retailer purchase new brand because of trust on distributor and for profit margin. But consumer purchase mobile because of trust on retailer. Indian market is very complicated, and it is hard to understand. I have another example of Pepsi where I have done my summer training, distributor sale Pepsi by hiring sales persons, and they sale Pepsi in auto, and retailer purchase more Pepsi because of them, their behavior, credit power, service and relationship, we can say many thing, but the main thing is, distribution channels matters.
Dell computers was the company who were sale his machine directly to the consumer but now they also selling his machine by distributors, because they realize their mistake. Distribution has tremendous power, and this power is more powerful country, like- India there is large consumers and growth.
After reading this, a question can arise in your mind? that why the retailer and wholesaler purchase products on credit, the thing not only that product is new or old, one very interesting thing behind it, I observe this thing when I was with my father business (distribution), retailer purchase product on credit and go to their store and sale that product, by his capabilities, but not give that money immediate to the wholesaler, they invest it into other products, and after some days they give back money to wholesalers’. Thing is work in that way.

Strategic Move- India Buying Gold

Yesterday I read a news in business world, that reserve bank of India are buying gold from IMF and its quantity is huge, 200 tonnes against $6.7 billion.

This is strategic move and may be give some benefit to the India like-

• By this move Indian gold reserve will increase and it will reach near about 550 tonnes, means we will strong economically, this gold are buying against foreign exchange amount.

• It will increase India goodwill front of world, and new opportunities will come, because when we will economical strong our financial power also increase, so we will get sound relation with financial institution of the world.

• After this move our gold holding will move 6 % from 4 % of foreign exchange, it is less compare to develop country but good news that , it is four times of china.

• Come to gold market, by this move internationally gold rate will increase, so demand of gold will increase, and will also increase in India, so when people will buy the gold from market and market will buy from RBI, so money will come in market and economy growth will increase.

• When people buy the gold, they will become financial strong so our country will become internally strong.

• One more move, move towards diversification, we are depended on dollar, by this way somehow, its dependency will reduce.

One thing create big difference
One day I was sit, one thing strike my mind that our walking speed can create a big difference in our life let me explain it by example-
Two person working in same company do the same work, work was go to market and purchase some item and come back they both do same thing ten times in a day. The distance was near about 15 minute both side, first person take 15 minutes but second one take only 10 minutes because he walk fast compare to first person. By this process everyday second person save 50 minutes, in month 1500 minutes, in a year 18000minuts (12 days). So you can imagine the little thing can create big difference in life.

Example: In 1981 caterpillar Tractor Company (cat) had been leading earth moving equipment manufacturer over two decades. Profit or sales was $9.2 billion and $580 million respectively. But because of overseas presser, recessionary period, increasing competition, dollar appreciation etc. cat was in loss by 1984 and lose 43% market share. But no. two was komatsu with 25% market share, it establish our self as world player.

Komatsu started his life in 1921 as mining equipment manufacturer and late 1940s and 1950s it started manufacturing earth moving equipment (EME) it was small player by 1963. In that year cat announce a joint venture with Mitsubishi

Faced new competitive pressures. But komarsu was their own way acquiring advance technology improve product quality, collaboration with various foreign companies in research and development (R&D), by these some more hard efforts the company domestic market shares rose up by 50% to 65% b/w 1965 to 1970.

Meanwhile komatsu was expending overseas, European and us market through establish subsidiary and undercutting cat price by 33% and more. By this efforts company was able to sale equipment overseas and set 20 offices and 160 distributors and by 1982 onwards export exceeds by 50% although its maintain 60% Japan market share also maintain. Strong focus on R&D and product development also realistic significant business benefit. In early 1980s komatsu launched no. of innovative product, such as first ever radio controlled bulldozer.

In 1982 company was 4 R&D laboratories and 5th on progress teey increase on R&D 4.3% in 1981 to 5.8% of sales in 1983 more than the three times of Japanese industry average. Diversification of kamtasu into robot manufacturing, a field which it become leading manufacturer.

What is main reason for this success? A big part of answer is company acquisition and management of key resource and also find our competencies-

This paper talk about the, how can organization convert a product into a brand with the help of information technology (IT). In present market condition this is very popular to use various tools of advertising that help the product to create awareness front of consumer in very short time period but for long term. But today many organizations also use social networking site to provide the awareness of product that help to company to enhance the value of the product front of consumer that directly link with the branding and create direct relationship with the consumer to share their view & experience about product at very short time period. India a high internet usage country and growth of usage internet is increasing very fast rate, in that situation it have a huge opportunity to create branding through information technology. ITC and HUL is the best example of this in India, they create a strategic impact of IT on branding of their organization, product and services. So this paper tells us about how company can get benefit of IT to create branding strategy.

INTRODUCTION

Branding is huge topic in itself, when we talk about brand theoretically it is easy to how can we develop the product as a brand but practical this is very difficult to create brand or convert a product into brand. I will talk about how can companies convert their product into brand with the help of IT. Before explaining the brand understand the who create the branding strait answer -customer but according to my view this is not complete truth branding is also created by company employees, investors, suppliers, even by security guard also, create the branding and by all the person related to product or organization and misconception about brand that the logo the advertising the copy the look the image, well a brand certainly encompasses all of those things, but that is not the full extent of it. Branding is, in a nutshell, the entire customer experience: the relation between company and customers, reducing the risk of customer, loyalty of customer towards product, ensure consistently across geographical barriers, focus on ensuring relevance in different countries and market. In order to develop globally, it is necessary to think locally. The some global brand- Amazon, BP, Google, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Apple, Vodafone, British Airways etc…..

Eg. Coca-cola is the company not have a worth of 66 million but the brand value of coca-cola is more than 66 billion that is imaging and we can understand the value of brand.

Create banding through IT is the not easy task but present scenario it is very useful because usage of internet is increasing at very fast rate, it help companies to make branding strategy. This paper mainly focus on the company strategy, how the companies using IT to create product branding.

Future prospective is the main aim of branding strategy by the organization because world is changing very fast towards technological change and also internet user increasing day by day. So companies seeing it for future prospective.

Fast way to reach customers is the another way to create product branding Amozon and is the another example here they sell product online and this way they create lot of image in the market and now Amazon is big brand in the world.

Maintain the relationship with the customers is also helpful in creating branding of product as well as company, Indian Tobacco Company (ITC) is the best example of this they create e-chopal for help of farmers, providing information about crops, maintain relation with farmer to purchase wheat, and many more, its helps to ITC to create branding of ITC and now ITC Fast Moving consumer Goods(FMCG) business is running very well and now they are on 2nd position after HUL in FMCG business.

Infrastructure cost saving also the main part of branding strategy of any company so they created their own website help them to create direct impact on the consumers that help to company create branding, and it help to company to save lot of money help aging to create branding.

Impact as a strong global brand is also part branding strategy Google is the best example of strong global brand because they provide the facility to internet users to create difference. Now Google is world no. one brand it helps Google to collect lot of revenue, because of brand image.

Enhance global customer relation, with the help of IT, information flow in all world is very easy and very fast take an example of BMW innovation lounge, Dell idea storm. These companies create global customer relation help them to become global brand.

Changing customer behavior is very fast because technological changes happens day by day if take an example of age group only 8% to 10% people of India is more than age of 60 years, so we can say people move towards the technology. So company making branding strategy according to that way.

These are only few objective of company to make branding strategy with the help of IT but many more.
